13 JUNE: DUE TO ILLNESS THERE WILL BE NO UPDATE THIS WEEK

Dear Readers ...

Large animated Turkish flag graphic for a white background ...... SPOTLIGHT ON TURKEY

When I first went to live in Turkey in the 1970's it was quite common for families of disabled  people to put them onto the streets with a bowl to beg for money. In some extreme cases they would exacerbate the deformity to promote more sympathy from the people passing by.

I am PROUD to say, that over the last 40 years there has been a radical change in the way things are done. There is still a long way to go, but then the same could be said about the UK also.

As more disabled people are now choosing Turkey as a place to visit, I thought I would post a few translated articles from the Turkish Press on the site to give you some idea of the work that is now being done. Enjoy !!
