Actually ... It all
started with toilets ... yes ... that's right ... the 'loo'.
As a new amputee, I soon began to realise that life outside my own little
world would be defined by the location and proximity of the nearest disabled
'loo'. Don't get me wrong ... I'm not incontinent !! ... but whether out in
town shopping or down the local pub, we all need to go at some point. And
this IS the POINT !!!
Anyone in Truro or Plymouth at that time may remember seeing a 'relatively
handsome but distinguished' ( OK .. OLD ... but it is my website ) man with a
rather strained look on his face being hurtled around the Town Centre in a wheelchair by ,
( and he made me put this ) an equally handsome but younger
companion, desperately looking for a disabled toilet.
As a celebration of my release from
STALAG TRELISKE, our friends organised a dinner party at a local restaurant,
totally oblivious to the fact that the dining room was actually UP a
very steep flight of stairs and when you got UP there, the 'loos' were
actually DOWN the very steep flight of stairs and DOWN a corridor the
length of which felt like a slip road onto the M5
Thus was born ...
www.disabledcornwall.co.uk
a comprehensive guide to Restaurants, Pubs and Tourist
Attractions providing excellent facilities and service to disabled patrons.
Very good idea ... . well done ...
just what we need ... you may say ... and if you did ... thank you very much
... BUT ... unfortunately I am blessed with a very low boredom threshold.
Producing a Guide can be a very dry affair. After changing the lay out and
colour scheme every five minutes I then decided to add an activities
section, then a local services section ... then an editor's page ... then
... see where I'm heading with this ... yes that's right ...
