Dear Readers,
It seems to have been a bit of quiet week for disability matters, here in the South West.
I have had to surf further afield to find any new news to bring you. In fact, all the way to Scotland for this weeks petition.
Kenny Shand ( www.kennyshand.co.uk ) runs an independent website and has started a petition for the Government to look into providing disabled parking spaces for people at home.
A lot of old properties in the South West open straight onto the street, being built before the need for every house to have a drive to park the car in. This petition is to ask the Prime Minister to look at providing a nearby designated parking bay for people with mobility problems and to:
1/ Allocate these Disabled Bays to those with Mobility problems who have substantial difficulty walking from their homes to their cars.
2/ Allocate a bay via Badge/ House Number so that bay is solely for use of person it is allocated to.
If you would like to sign up to the petition click HERE
I suppose we just have to hope this week that NO NEWS is GOOD NEWS ...
Take care ..
